This photo is from the Line and Shape assignment. This photo is one of my favorites because I took it at the park that I used to go to with my sister and aunt when I was younger. My favorite thing to do at the park was to swing. The point of view I mimicked to take this photo was completely level with the subject so it was directly in the middle of the photo, meaning I did ignore the rule of thirds. The blurred backround frames the triangle and the rest of the swing making this photo pleasing to the eye also using a shallow depth of field. The shutter speed was high because the swing was moving, and the white balence was sunny . The IOS was set on 200. This photo shows strong lines with the triangle in the center. It also shows the texture of the swing and the trees in the backround. This image creates a mood of lost childhood when I look at it because of the backstory. This photo is from the self portrait assignment. This photo really describes me as a person because, my personality is very busy. I love vinyl records so I placed all of mine around my body, pulling out my favorite record holding it over my face. I took this with a tripod standing it over my legs. The white balance is set to sunny because of the light which comes into my living room from the large windows. Again, I did not consider the rule of thirds. The shutter speed was set very fast because my cats kept getting in the picture so I had to throw a ball and take it as fast as possible. The iso was set at around 300. Artistically, the records draw your eyes around the photo.
This photograph was taken on a trip my mom is awesome and I went on to New York City. I love this photo, I did not realize how many elements contribute to this photos composition until I brought it home and really looked at it. The moving truck follows the rule of thirds, and creates lines and shapes because of its box-like shape. The lights fading down the tunnel carry your eye through the photo making it visually interesting. The white balance was on sunny, even though I was in a tunnel, I had the camera set to take photos outside in Central Park, where we prior to this image being captured. I used a very high shutter speed because in the park I was taking pictures of squirrels. The ISO was set at about 200- I am not exactly sure how it was set at the time, but that is normally where I leave it. Assignment: Shadow and Reflection ISO: 300 White Balance: Florescent Shutter Speed: High(800?)
